Stream Rules
1. Please be kind and respectful
In chat, I ask you to be kind to others and myself. Although I expect some chat/streamer ribbing to happen, it is not an excuse to be unkind, especially to others in chat. This includes the use of hateful/discriminatory language. Swearing is allowed if used in a way that is not unkind.☑: Casual swearing and joking with me is permitted. For example: "What the fuck was that thing?", "Dude. How did you fuck that up so many times LOL"
☒: Rude usage of swearing, slurs, and discriminatory language. For example: "What? Are you fucking [r-slur]ed? Why the fuck would you do that?"
2. Avoid spamming and off topic messages
As a streamer, I want to be able to keep up with chat. As such, spamming is discouraged. Avoid repeating yourself, or sending chats that distract from the stream. Outside of just chatting sections of streams, please try to avoid sending messages that are off topic.☑: Messages related to or semi-related to the topic of discussion, or the game being played. For example: "I think my favourite flavour of bubble tea is taro" (on topic of bubble tea), "Oh man I always sucked at this boss fight as a kid lol" (while fighting X boss)
☒: Entirely unrelated messages to the topic of discussion or the game being played. For exmaple: Discussing your favourite horse breed while we're discussing music, and playing VVVVVV.
3. Please avoid polarising topics
In order to keep things fun and light, please avoid mentioning topics which may stir up upset or debate. These include politics, world events, celebrities, religious views, and drama. If I myself bring any of these things up, try to be mindful of how you word any related messages. I will always allow differing opinions, but it is imperative to keep a relaxing and fun atmosphere in chat and on stream.☑: Inflammatory opinion baiting. For example: "Nahhhh have you heard of [person here]? They did some crazy shit" (discussing some drama that has not been mentioned)
☒: Rude usage of swearing, slurs, and discriminatory language. For example: "What? Are you fucking [r-slur]ed? Why the fuck would you do that?"
4. For your sake, avoid sending personal messages publicly
This includes personal details, such as your location, where you are employed, your exact age, full name, and other personal information. In addition, please avoid overly personal messages, like trauma dumping.☑: Vague messages that do not get into specifics. For example: "It's late here", "I had a bit of a rough week, but it's getting better now I can unwind!"
☒: Specific and personal information. For example: "Yeah in [city you live] there's a Dunkin' Donuts opposite my house, I love going there", detailed messages about traumatic incidents or personal goings on in your life (break ups, deaths, generally topics you would vent about to friends)
5. Please avoid spoilers and backseating in videogames
I appreciate the want to help me out when I am struggling in a game, but part of the fun here is watching me flail around, and feeling a bit better about yourself. Unless I specifically ask, please do not give me unsolicited advice about how to play a game - unless it is a minor tip.☑: Tips that are not telling me what to do, and avoid spoilers. For example: "Oh, you can hold down X as you swim to go faster."
☒: Telling me what to do and/or spoiling the game. For example: "No you need to go to the forest from the beginning of the game and then you find out [character] died."
6. Please avoid bringing up other creators, YouTubers, or VTubers
I myself am an independent creator, and I would appreciate it if others were kept out of my streams. Unless I mention someone, avoid mentioning them for any reason. In addition, avoid mentioning me where I am not mentioned - I don't want a bad reputation for having a pushy fan base.☑: Referencing creators while they are the topic of discussion
☒: Bringing up others out of nowhere
7. Avoid 'micromodding'
If you see someone violating the rules, in any capacity, please ignore them. A moderator will deal with them, and it is best if you focus on having fun, not trying to moderate chat for me. I appreciate the sentiment, but do your best to just have fun!☑: The best practice is to say nothing at all, just ignore it.
☒: Pointing it out to me, summoning mods, or warning the user yourself. For example: "Hey @[viewer] I know you're new here but spamming isn't allowed, read the rules."
